There are a lot of different holiday books. I like to teach while I read, so I love these simple books that teach about the holidays and build sight words at the same time. Beginning reading books usually have eight pages, and only a word or two per page. I like these because they are simple concepts, but at a fraction of the price. They are designed to be printed double sided, cut down the middle, across the middle and a staple to create the book.
The holiday books go through all the major holidays and teach a lot of the fun traditions too. They may have a Christmas tree, an Easter Bunny, or a Halloween pumpkin. It is easy for children to be able to read the word because of the picture clues. Children love to read a pile of books all at the same time. It is fun and they feel a lot of accomplishment too.
I love having children talk about what they are reading, especially when it is as fun as a holiday. Children love to tell stories about something fun they did on a holiday, or what they are wanting to do on the next holiday. It is easy to make reading holiday books fun, remember when they’re laughing, they’re learning, so always Teach With Giggles. Written by Raeann Hansen 2019
